Resources Will Improve Veteran Employee Hiring and Retention in Professional Careers
Arlington, VA – August 9, 2017 – The National Association of Veteran-Serving Organizations (NAVSO) is awarded grants totaling $45,000 by Deloitte & Touche LLP to support NAVSO’s focus on improving veteran employment outcomes.
NAVSO helps veteran serving organizations, their government agency counterparts, funders and businesses that are actively seeking veterans as workforce talent. While many nonprofits and corporations have made inroads in issues facing veteran employment and retention, far too many organizations are working towards goals without established and evidence-based best practices to fill important gaps. This often disjointed and uninformed approach leads to disconnected services, making it unnecessarily difficult – if not impossible - for veterans in need to navigate the services and resources they need.
NAVSO fills this void by acting as a central organization to help employers and providers across the veteran services landscape to coordinate, collaborate and stay informed concerning evolving needs and leading practices. NAVSO does this by bringing veteran-service organizations together in a national virtual network consisting of more than 2,000 organizations and more than 20,000 participants for easy collaboration and coordination.
