WASHINGTON — The Pentagon is rolling out a new program that provides military spouses resources to prepare them and their family for the time when their husband or wife transitions out of the military.
The Military Spouse Transition Program, or MySTeP, is an initiative that launched in early August through the Pentagon’s Military Community and Family Policy office and provides military spouses information to help prepare them for the inevitability of their family leaving the military.

A new study published online in Psychiatric Services in Advance finds that video-enabled tablets can improve mental health care access for patients who experience barriers because of geographic, social, or health-related circumstances.

A new study conducted by the University of Akron looked to see if there was a difference between wages earned by military veterans compared with non-veterans.
The study found that military veterans earned higher wages, averaging nearly $26 an hour while non-veterans averaged just $21 an hour.

Thousands of honorably discharged veterans will soon be able to join the American Legion under new legislation expected to be signed soon by President Donald Trump.
Under the new law, any honorably discharged veteran who has served since Dec. 7, 1941, may join the American Legion, meaning military veterans who served in what were previously considered periods of peacetime between wars are now eligible for membership.

June 24 (UPI) -- For many veterans, life in combat is hard, but for those who survive it, the mental stress of war can be deadly, new research shows.
Veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder have twice the risk of dying from accidental injury, viral hepatitis and suicide compared to the general population, according to a study published Monday in the American Journal of Preventative Medicine. They also have a higher risk of developing chronic liver disease and diabetes.

Google for Startups, launched by Google in 2011 as Google for Entrepreneurs, announced Tuesday that it is partnering with two small business-focused veteran nonprofits and shoring up its existing relationship with a third.
